Staff Reviews
One of my New Year’s resolutions is to cook more. I am obsessed with John Kanell’s cookbook, Preppy Kitchen. The recipes are classic and elegant, but actually doable for a novice like me. I have made the Dutch Oven Chicken Pot Roast with Fingerling Potatoes, Shallots and Olives (p.47) (delicious!), Chicken Milanese with Roasted Grapes and Rosemary (p217) (who knew you could roast grapes and they would be delicious!) and the Orange Linzer Cookie Wreaths (p.142) (scrumptious!). I love how he adds his very helpful, "tips and tricks" for each recipe as well as “special projects” for each season. I am looking forward to making so many other dishes from this book, and maybe even trying a “special project” or two.
